Name of the tv characters?? plz help?

in the Uk there was a kids tv programme made in the same fashion as the tweenies, ie characters in costumes. It was on the air in the 2000's and may still be on the air now. does anyone kno the name of the show? it basically contained 4 characters that were of different colours and each character had stripes of two colours. eg, one character was made from yellow and orange stripes and another from purple and pink stripes. to further describe the characters, their faces kinda looked like elephants with tiny ogre like ears. i kno the description isn't gr8 bt any help appreciated. i think they were called something sounding like the wombles but it wasn't them.
