Is my relationship a joke?

ok so im in 8th grade and a boy in 7th asked me out at first i didnt like him but now i do cuz hes just so sweet(weve been going our for like 3 days) well im not a looser but im not popular and he is frirnds with the most popular 7th grader he always says he wanta to hug me but in the halls he doesnt. idk how to get him too or anything like how? is there anything more i can do? we text alot. thanks and like he aleays write heey ma y *****<3 and hey beautiful and stuff like that do u think its a joke and is there anything i can do to get him to hug me or something to inprove the relationship? thanks
