I need a really good and secure travel day bag?

I am going traveling around europe and already have a big 80litre bag for all of my things, but i need a really good and secure day bag that i can use. One that will be easy to look after so things dont get stolen and possibly is difficult to slash. I have been looking at the satchel type bag, any good ideas?
