Does the US need to have more contentment?

The US isnt perfect but we seem to always want to be more and more exceptional and we are rarely content with were we are. The US is 3 times wealthier than any nation in history and yet all we talk about is how bad the economy is. Shouldn't we stop and appreciate how good we have it more often.
