Have you ever encountered a solder job so bad (needs help with resistor)?
I have this bug zapper in the shape of a tennis racket and I was going to modify the circuit for my science fair project (can't say what it is but its related to EMP devices). I opened up this tennis racket bug zapper and the circuit board is what u might see in some 80's electronics (sorta strange but its cheaper and easier to work on) but who ever soldered had decent joints and such but there was solder on the actual insulation on the capacitors and resistors and such. I just decided not to mess with it and de-soldered the wires that were to the metal net and soldered on a coil. I go to use my newly modified circuit and a resistor goes up in sparks. I'm not too familiar with codings on resistors but i can tell u its a light blue resistor with bands going gold, brownish red, purple then brown. What one is this and where can i buy it?
