Anyone taking Linisopril or any ACE inhibitor?

i have kidney disease and was prescribed the drug linisorpril, an ace inhibitor. i am 18 and small i'm afraid to take my meds because i read about some horrible side effects. i also read that this drug is made for mive heart attack victims, and people with high blood pressure, and should nt be taken by people with kidney problems. yet my kidney dr prescribed it to me! to the point- anyone take these? is it really so horrible and should i just take my med?
